To help you stay organized and prepared, here are some tried-and-true packing tips from our team:

Pace Yourself

Start early and give yourself manageable goals. Try packing for an hour a day or finishing one room per week. Rushing at the last minute often leads to disorganization and missed essentials.

Create a Parts Box

Set aside a box for small items, spare parts, and knick-knacks that don’t have a permanent home yet. This keeps miscellaneous items from getting lost.

Set Aside Personal and Essential Items

Clearly mark a box for items you’ll need immediately after the move—like paperwork, medications, chargers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Keep it easily accessible.

Label Everything

Label each box with its contents and destination room. Color coding also works well. Clear labeling speeds up the unloading process and keeps your new space organized.

Avoid Overpacking

Use small boxes for heavy items and large boxes for lighter ones. If it’s too heavy to lift comfortably, it’s probably overpacked.
